Yes, I voted today. Our polling place, the local elementary school, was fairly calm. We picked a time (after opening hours, before lunch) when it would be. Not many people there and apart from an acquaintance standing outside the door (carefully obeying all laws about campaigning near a polling place) who’s insane enough to be running for the State House, there wasn’t much excitement. There are some who believe voting is worthless, that we have no control. Past events have shown this to be a false assumption in many ways, and at times I feel it is the only thing I can do anymore. Politicians seem to have forgotten who they work for - the electorate, the citizens. It’s what they get paid the big bucks for. If they don’t want that job, they shouldn’t take it.
