Explaining the non-lies, and re: the truth
Posted by Danny on 18th December 2009
I sometimes mention that I was in the Army. Which is true. I was an Arabic Linguist in the active U.S. Army in 1990, and during the start of the first gulf war. People often assume that this means I claim to have been a soldier, a fighter, whatever. And I want to set the record “straight.” I recently discovered, while trying to get copies of my military training records for possible future educational credits, that they had removed my language training certificate from them, claiming I did not finish (which, I did. And which I was offered jobs over right after my service, jobs I didn’tt want). This is part of what brings this up.
